Traveling through San Bernardino County, the tranquil farms near Chino and fragrant orange groves surrounding Redlands flow into the bustling cities of Ontario and San Bernardino. Above the office buildings, manufacturing hubs, shopping centers, universities and homes are dense alpine forests that quickly give way to vast deserts.

When people say Southern California has it all, San Bernardino County "fits the bill". Larger than New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware combined, San Bernardino County offers all the advantages of metropolitan living – a diverse job market, a nationally renowned symphony, the nation’s largest amphitheater and world-class sporting events – and all of the comforts of a resort lifestyle, including vast regional parks, mountain ski resorts, amusement parks, and lake and desert recreational opportunities. It also offers Southern California’s newest homes at reasonable prices. You can get much more in San Bernardino County for much less than you can most anywhere else in Southern California and still enjoy an outstanding quality of life.

The number of people who call San Bernardino home has tripled since 1970. More than a million new residents have arrived over the past 30 years, lured by the prospect of great jobs, affordable homes, a remarkable climate and a uniquely diverse geography. Ontario International Airport’s brand-new twin 265,000-square-foot terminals handle 10 million passengers a year. The California Speedway between Fontana and Rancho Cucamonga brings big-time motor sports back to Southern California and attracts crowds of 100,000 on three weekends a year. The Ontario Mills is one of the world’s largest shopping centers, also drawing visitors from throughout Southern California. California State University, the University of Redlands and Loma Linda University attract students from around the world.

The present looks bright for San Bernardino County and the county is planning for a future that can accommodate growth while preserving an excellent quality of life. So as was the case for the early settlers, San Bernardino County is a place where people are on the go. There is, after all, a lot of ground to cover.
