Sheriff-Coroner ~ Life As a Deputy Sheriff
The Orange County Sheriff-Coroner is a large, multifaceted agency composed of over 3800 sworn and professional staff members providing law enforcement services to all the people in Orange County.

There’s a new breed of Sheriff in town – Deputy Sheriff Kim Donohue will tell you that she chose the Orange County Sheriff’s Department after exploring a multitude of career fields. Deputy Donohue, a competitive surfer and athlete, was looking to mix her passion for the ocean, with a career that would offer her an opportunity to serve her community, yet offer great variety and job satisfaction. She found this mix at the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. Deputy Donohue, “As I researched the Sheriff’s Department, I discovered that the department patrolled the three harbors in Orange County – being an active surfer and given my love for the ocean, I knew this was the career for me.”

The Department, the largest law enforcement agency in the County, offers a multitude of rotating assignments including: Patrol, Motorcycles, Custody, Harbor Patrol, Aviation, Drug Enforcement Team, S.W.A.T., Court Services, and Bomb Squad. Deputy Donohue represented the department in the law enforcement Baker to Vegas relay road race and competed in the surfing event for the 2002 Police and Fire Olympics. She is just one of the real people working to keep you safe. For more information, go to www.ocsd.org
