San Bernardino County Healthcare The health of San Bernardino County residents and visitors is cared for by three primary agencies: Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC), the Department of Behavioral Health and the Department of Public Health. These agencies and their staff members are at the heart of our community.
The Arrowhead Regional Medical Center is a newly constructed, state-of-the-art, acute care teaching hospital affiliated with the University of California and Loma Linda University Schools of Medicine and fully accredited by the American Osteopathic Association. The 373-bed facility is comprised of five main buildings covering 72 acres and hosts a staff of 2,700 employees. Our Level II Trauma Center and Emergency Department are among the busiest in Southern California, averaging 5,500 visits per month. ARMC provides a full range of services to care for the health needs of San Bernardino County residents.
The Department of Behavioral Health consists of residential, outpatient, day treatment, and drug /alcohol treatment centers dispersed throughout San Bernardino County's 20,160 square miles. With a staff of 600 employees, Behavioral Health offers services and treatment to families throughout the County community.
The Department of Public Health operates 33 major programs that are grouped into six major categories: Disease Control and Prevention, Nutrition and Health Education, Adult and Children's Health, Vital Statistics, Environmental Health, and Animal Health. Public Health's staff members care for the health and safety of the 1.8 million residents who call San Bernardino County home.
